Every summer, we engage in this activity in Kushiro.
The target is the Kuchoro River, located upstream of the Kushiro Wetlands.
The aim is to prevent sediment runoff into the wetlands,
creating a more habitable environment for the flora and fauna.
Everyone is very welcoming and accommodating. Thank you very much.
Kushiro Wetland Old River Restoration Site Tour
In the past, the Kushiro River was straightened out. Nowadays, there is an ongoing project to restore it to its natural state. I participated in a tour organized by the Hokkaido Development Bureau. We observed the upper reaches of the Kushiro Wetland by canoe. Plants and animals are gradually returning to their natural state. There are Japanese bush warblers, kingfishers, Japanese wagtails, red-crowned cranes, deer, and many other creatures living naturally in the area.

We descended the Kushiro River in canoes, this time in the Shibecha area, the upper reaches of the wetlands. Is this Osobetsu? Not far from where that infamous OSO18 bear was seen? It's a bit nerve-wracking, but there's a lot of nature around here. That's great, it feels good. This tour is part of a public project, so everything is free of charge.
Kushiro River Old River Restoration Tour
We visited the Numahoro River, a river in the upper reaches of the Kushiro Wetlands. It's part of a project to return the river from its straightened form to its natural meandering state. The river is home to the freshwater pearl mussel, and during river construction, these mussels can't survive. So, we took part in the challenging task of collecting and protecting as many mussels as possible and reintroducing them to the restored river. Freshwater pearl mussels play a role in purifying the river's water.

Although it's called a clean-up, there's very little trash in the lake. We also volunteer at the auto campsite. Canoeing on the lake is relaxing. While observing the bulrushes, we chat with our fellow canoeists. It's enjoyable, isn't it?

#Sennosuke, Tairyomaru, and the Aquarium
At the charcoal BBQ restaurant Tairyomaru, we grilled some delicious kalbi beef and homemade satsuma-age this time. Sensaba and cabbage are classic choices, right?
In the Sennosuke building, there's a large aquarium that extends to the second floor. Many fish are swimming in it. There's even a scheduled "Mogu Mogu Time." The rays can be quite voracious, which makes them both adorable and a bit of a nuisance for the person feeding them.

The main dish is a stir-fry of meat and vegetables.
It tastes amazing, truly wonderful.
The cheeseburger is also good.
They have a soup bar, curry bar, rice bar, and dessert bar.

At 3:00 PM on September 16th, the temperature is 23 degrees Celsius at the seismic resistant wharf and Fisherman's Wharf. It's hotter than usual this year. We're blessed with good weather. The Emperor and Empress are staying at a facility nearby. Good weather, beautiful scenery. It's wonderful, isn't it?

This is the special preserved area of the Kushiro Wetlands. Permission from Tsurui Town is required. We embarked on a 4km trek through the "Deer Way" under the guidance of Mr. Shinsho. He was a guide on the show "Buratamori." This time, it was just the four of us with him as our guide. We were incredibly lucky.

Let's descend into the wetlands. We're by the Tsuruwashinai River. This is a place I've visited before. It's got a refreshing breeze, a clear blue sky, and autumn clouds drifting by. The birds are chirping frequently. It feels wonderful.

We descended to a pond where spring water collects using a rope. The water was cold, clear, and refreshing. The Kushiro Wetlands are fed by springwater from various sources, a staggering 20,000 places in total. This was my first time visiting this particular pond. The Shinsho Tour is really packed with experiences.

Seiko Mart's chikuwa bread, a Hokkaido specialty, has become incredibly delicious. It seems that Kushiro has finally started getting colder. It's the best season, but...
New Rice
Due to unfavorable weather conditions, it seems that Niigata's rice harvest was not very productive. Therefore, I decided to purchase new rice #Nanatsuboshi from Hokkaido. I got it from a well-known rice shop in Kushiro called "Kome Shin." Finally, the new rice has arrived.
Kushiro Kawanabe Dumplings
I received these dumplings from my friends in Kushiro. They are incredibly generous in size. Though it's hard to say goodbye, it's time to bid farewell to the chilly weather in Kushiro.
Cheese Cream Bread
A product from #Seicomart, and it's become my recent favorite. The refined taste and smoothness of the cream filling are truly delightful.
100% Buckwheat Soba
This is Chosuke's 100% buckwheat soba, and it's incredibly delicious. You can even see the texture in the noodles, right? It looks fantastic!
Rice Ball with New Rice
I made a rice ball with the new rice from Rankoshi, Hokkaido, and some mentaiko. There's really nothing more to say - it must be delicious!
#Shinseisakuten (New Production Exhibition)
Shinseisakuten, currently taking place at the National Art Center in Roppongi, Tokyo, is one of the leading and most highly anticipated juried exhibitions in Japan. According to Wikipedia, it boasts one of the country's largest scales and achievements. In the 2022 edition, more than 37,000 visitors attended. Selected works from the submissions are displayed at the National Art Center during the exhibition period.
I have the opportunity to visit every year thanks to a friend from a women's university club activity who is a member. It's truly an artful autumn, and it often inspires me to create art as well.
Homemade Meal
I had a craving for rice and natto, so I prepared this dish. I grilled mackerel with Saikyo miso seasoning and served it with spinach, nozawana (Japanese mustard greens), green onions, and seaweed. Looks delicious, doesn't it? Like!
Confit
"Confit" is a type of French cuisine where ingredients are slowly cooked in low-temperature oil. The word originates from the French "confire," which means "to preserve," in English. Confit was developed as a cooking method to preserve meat dishes in times when refrigeration technology was not advanced. By cooking meat in oil and then allowing it to cool in the same oil, the fat covers the food, creating a barrier against air and moisture, thus enhancing its preservation.
So, as an experiment, you tried making it. Yes, this looks like it turned out well. Just to clarify, it's not yakitori, right?

Big Chef's steak and hamburger. Steak is still delicious, isn't it? This meat has been aged, so both the flavor and tenderness are outstanding. And it's a great deal, too.

Bamiyanchinesefood
The Chinese restaurant's Bamiyan has undergone a significant transformation and has become incredibly delicious. It received high praise on Job Chune. So, I decided to try it right away. It's been a while since I had Peking duck, and the deep-fried golden sand powder is amazing. I hadn't heard of that before. Everything was delicious, and I was truly impressed.
Vegetable Pizza
I made a pizza with only vegetables, excluding sausage. There's no pizza dough involved, so I put the ingredients inside a small, deep pan. Cabbage is the main ingredient, along with onions, bell peppers, eggplant, and any other vegetables you like. It's topped with a tomato base and cheese, with mozzarella cheese being essential.
Sashimi
In Kushiro, seafood is both affordable and delicious. Interestingly, even at my home in Kashiwa-no-ha Campus, we can enjoy very delicious sashimi. The shop is called "Senrei-Hirasho."
I really love sushi, but at my age, I consider it a unique diet food. Hahaha!
Chinese Cuisine
The improved Bamiyan dish sounds great! It's wonderful that the vegetable version tasted delicious. Plus, affordability always adds to the enjoyment of a meal.

It's been a while since you visited Shabu-Shabu at #Shabuyo. Enjoying a meal without carbohydrates can be a refreshing experience. As you search for a fitness gym upon returning from Kushiro, it's indeed the season for good appetites.
Maintaining Health Through Diet and Exercise.
You've been experimenting with your meals at a nearby Gyoza no Osho in the past few weeks to lower your HbA1c levels by reducing carbohydrate intake.
Additionally, you're actively looking for a fitness gym. Visiting five gyms today, you've noticed significant differences between them, which makes the search quite interesting.
Gusto is like the epitome of B-class gourmet and family restaurants. It's one of my favorites. I wonder if I discovered it thanks to Job Tune. Their tartar sauce and demiglace sauce are delicious. I'm also enjoying dining out while visiting fitness gyms.
Today, I visited two fitness gyms again. There are quite a few of them, it seems to be trendy. Eight gyms in total. I will choose one from them.
As for the meal, I had sashimi. This honmaguro (bluefin tuna) was incredibly delicious.
Today, I had sukiyaki, which I hadn't had in a while. It was made with black wagyu beef, so it was tender and delicious. The main goal was to eat plenty of vegetables. It was tasty, and I felt happy.
By the way, I've made plans for next summer. I've already locked in the snow season. Now, I just need to wait for the snow to fall. In the meantime, this autumn, I'll focus on shaping up at the gym to ensure my physical condition.

I seem to have gathered quite a collection of various items. While souvenirs from Kushiro might not be that special, the gifts I've received are something else. It's like I've hit the jackpot! ?

Now, can you guess what type of meat this is?
It looks like deliciously marbled beef, doesn't it? Tastes just like beef too. But, that's not it. It's pork?specifically, Iberico pork. The marbling pattern on the surface even resembles that of a Jamón jabugo. It's exquisite!
Appetite for Autumn
Finally, it's getting cooler. The air is dry, and it's the perfect autumn weather. It feels so good. Enjoying oden - it's delicious. Lately, I've been really into daikon radish and kelp. Chikuwa and konjac are good too.

Wireless Earphones
Since last week, I've been going to a new medium-sized fitness gym. It's not one of those trendy small places, but it's not large either. They don't have weight machines, which suits me just fine. It's not crowded, and I can work out at my own pace. I bought a new pair of wireless earphones, so I can listen to my favorite music while I exercise. By the way, despite being a super affordable online purchase, these earphones are really great.
Sushi from "Uobei."
I got it as a takeout this weekend. You can place a custom order and pay in advance by card. Just pick it up at the scheduled time. You can have as many pieces of your favorite toppings as you like. This time, the highlight was the "anago" (conger eel). Incredibly delicious.
Wiper Blade Replacement
I didn't expect prices to have risen so much. My wiper blades needed replacement, and when I checked at a nearby car shop, they were more than double the price they used to be. It's not a substantial amount, but it just didn't sit well with me. So, I started searching on various online shops for better deals. I found a set of two wiper blades for 233 yen, and essentially, the shipping was free. What a deal!

In the middle of autumn
These are the trees in the garden of my condominium. They are Japanese spindle (Yamaboushi) and fragrant olive (Kinmokusei). I've heard that Japanese spindle fruits can be used to make delicious jam.
Mackerel Rice
A local specialty in Kushiro, made with mackerel. I used store-bought broiled mackerel. I steamed it for over 30 minutes to make it tender and remove any fishy smell. Then I cut it into small pieces, placed it on rice, and added an original sauce with homemade seasoning and Japanese pepper. It's just like an eel rice bowl, but with mackerel instead. Delicious!

久しぶりに色んな料理を並べる。
メインはチキンソテー、ブラウンマッシュルームを添えて。
前菜はあん肝と唐揚げエビ、ワカメのサラダ。
豚汁、厚切りトースト。
簡単に作った割には超贅沢感のある美味しさでした。
満足満足。
Chicken Sauté
After a long time, I prepared various dishes. The main course was chicken sauté with brown mushrooms on the side. For appetizers, I had foie gras, fried shrimp, and wakame salad. Accompanied by miso soup and thick slices of toast. It was surprisingly delicious and felt quite luxurious, given how easy it was to prepare. Very satisfying!

Grilled Pacific Saury (Sanma)
Grilled Pacific Saury is prepared in the oven to give it a crisp, elegant texture on the surface. It's garnished with shiso leaves and cilantro for a refreshing touch. And for the grand finale of "hitzumabushi," it's served as an ochazuke, turning it into a delicious dish rivaling eel in taste.
Snow Gold Cheese
I received this from a friend who loves skiing - Snow Gold Cheese. It's my first time hearing about it. It's a sweet treat that can only be found at Daimaru Sapporo. To get your hands on it, you have to wait in line. It's undeniably delicious.

A flashy restaurant along Route 16, serving Chinese cuisine - Shaou. Their Tar Tar Chicken and Gomoku Yakisoba were incredibly flavorful and generous in portion. I couldn't finish it all.
I grilled some fresh saury (mackerel pike), and although it seemed a bit thin, it turned out to be quite delicious. The roe was fresh, and even though I'm not a fan, I enjoyed it. A small bird, a Long-tailed Tit, which my wife was in the process of making, joined the meal as well.

The flower fields in front of the windmills at the Akebono-yama Agricultural Park in Kashiwa City are splendid. The cosmos fields are quite impressive, and the autumn sky is beautiful.
A remarkable achievement to pass all the exams at Sushiro, as seen on JobTune. So, I got takeout right away. But, wait...? There's a bit of sinew in the premium fatty tuna. It's different from what was shown on TV. Nevertheless, the extra-large head-on red shrimp in the restaurant was incredibly delicious.
